Operating principles

Start with the customer and the operating reality

The roadmap should reflect what customers need, what the technology can reliably do, and what the business is prepared to support.

Make complexity understandable

Create a shared model of the problem so engineering, design, operations, sales, and customers can make better decisions together.

Ship, observe, and improve

Release useful increments, measure their behavior, learn from exceptions, and feed that knowledge into the next decision.

Build the organization alongside the product

Strategy, planning, customer feedback, decision rights, and communication are part of the product system.

Case Studies

GPS-denied navigation

Product development and field validation of a sensor-fusion system designed to estimate position when satellite navigation is degraded or unavailable.

Investments

Backing ambitious
technology early.

I make occasional personal investments in early-stage technology companies and funds. My interests include AI, robotics, aerospace, defense technology, data infrastructure, and tools that expand human capability.

About

I started
with data.

I began my career building financial-data collection and operational tools. At Expedia, I moved into global consumer mobile products. At Postmates, I built marketplace and developer-platform products. Since then, I’ve led products across autonomous delivery, applied AI, GPS-denied navigation, geospatial systems, and machine telemetry.

My background is in electronic media, interface design, animation, and development. It shaped how I work: understand the technical system, make it useful to customers, and help the organization scale it.

Personal

Indiana → New York → California.

Currently living in Ojai, California. Previously based in Indiana and New York.

I’ve carried the same curiosity about how people, places, design, and technology shape one another across each move. Outside work, I spend time outdoors, make things, and keep a long-running collection of field notes and experiments.
